How to choose?

How to choose the right anti-vibration solution for you?

1

Determine the total weight of the equipment and the number of fasteners required

2

Calculate the weight of each bracket (bear in mind that the weight may not be evenly distributed)

3

Set the speed (or frequency) of the equipment

4

Determine the static fixing deflection according to the diagram below (typically 70% isolation is acceptable for most applications)

5

Based on the load for each fixing, choose the right type of fixing to ensure the required static deflection, taking into account the specific requirements of the application, e.g. whether the equipment is mobile or static.

6

Ensure that all equipment connections, e.g. exhaust pipes, piping and ducting, are flexible and that the equipment can move freely

We also design and manufacture standard SBR, NBR, EPDM rubber, silicone, nitrile, neoprene, PVC products, various silicone hoses according to customer requirements

Other factors to consider include:

  • Contamination by oil, fuels, chemicals and extreme temperatures
  • Corrosive environment – offshore platforms, high humidity.
  • Big G forces – SUVs, construction plant, army
  • Shock protection – to protect fragile equipment from drops and shocks.
  • The foundation must be level and flat.
  • Suspended floors need special care
  • Suspension springs to accommodate movement. i.e. vibratory rollers, compactors, screens
  • Low-speed equipment – fans, coolers, blowers and air conditioning units.
  • Suspension bushes – angular and rotational movements
  • Human vibration – i.e. ISO 2631
  • Mechanical vibrations – i.e. ISO7919 and ISO10816
