Rubber Grades and How to Choose

Choosing the right rubber determines how long a part lasts. We manufacture in SBR, NBR, EPDM, silicone, nitrile, neoprene and PVC. Below are the main rubber grades, their properties and typical uses. Not sure? Tell us the media (oil, water, chemicals), temperature and load and we will select the material.

Why choose us?

EPDM

Excellent ozone, weather and water resistance; not for oil. Temperature ~ -40…+130 °C.

Silicone rubber

Wide range -60…+200 °C, ozone-resistant, food-grade options.

NBR (nitrile)

Excellent oil and fuel resistance; temperature ~ -30…+110 °C.

Neoprene (CR)

Good weather, ozone and moderate oil resistance; flame-retardant.

SBR

Good mechanical resistance and value; general use, not for oil.

Natural rubber (NR)

Excellent elasticity and abrasion resistance; not for oil or ozone.

PVC

Chemical resistance; used for profiles and hoses.

Types and variations

EPDM

Outdoor, water, HVAC gaskets and profiles.

Silicone

High temperature, food and medical.

NBR / nitrile

Oil, fuel, hydraulics.

Neoprene (CR)

All-round, marine and outdoor.

SBR

General use, cushioning.

PVC

Hoses, profiles, chemical resistance.

Custom manufacturing to drawing

For your media and conditions we select the grade, hardness (Shore A) and, if needed, certified (food/medical) materials.

Materials & hardness (Shore A)

Hardness typically 40–80 Shore A; colour by material or on request.

Dimensions & technical parameters

Resistance & service life

Mechanical/abrasion resistance: NR and SBR high; chemical/ozone – EPDM and silicone; oil – NBR.

FAQ

For oil and fuel, NBR (nitrile) is best; neoprene is moderate. EPDM, SBR and silicone are not suitable for oil.

Silicone rubber (up to ~200 °C), then EPDM and neoprene.
